Mantua Township is a township in Gloucester County in New Jersey in the United States. That place was formed as a township on 23rd February 1853 by the act of the New Jersey Legislature. The name of this township was given to it after a place in Italy called Mantua, it is often thought that this township has been named after the Mantua sub-tribe of the Lenape Native Americans.
